Roatan Top 5: Places to Eat Healthy

Café Escondido in West End

This spot is a forever-favorite among locals and tourists alike. Café Escondido brings Asian flavors into the mix with their rice and noodle bowls. Add in their generously sized salads and you have several options for eating fresh and healthy. Don’t overlook their fruit juices and smoothies – there is always something fresh available!

Café Escondido is open Tuesday to Sunday from 7:45am to 3.00pm and closed on Mondays. They’re located above West End Divers in central West End.

La Casita outside of West End

La Casita offers Ceviche Saturday, daily soup and sandwich specials, and fantastic salads. Providing plenty of options for light, fresh meals that won’t be deep-fried is their forte. They also sell a variety of unique sauces and spices, so be sure to swing in if you’re in the mood to cook some deliciously inspired meals at home!

La Casita is closed Mondays, open all other days from 9am-6:30pm. They also deliver to all areas of West End and Sandy Bay. You’ll find La Casita on the left-hand side of the main road heading out of West End, just after the horses. There is a small parking area available for customers.

Fresh Bakery and Cafe, Alba Plaza, West End

As the name states, Fresh Bakery and Cafe offers freshly made bakery treats and meals. There are plenty of options to choose from, including sandwiches, wraps, daily specials, and some of the best bakery items you will find in Roatan. There is also a variety of smoothies, as well as quality coffee and tea available. After a healthy breakfast or lunch, go ahead and indulge in one of their delicious freshly baked treats! Fresh offers indoor and outdoor seating and is a popular breakfast and lunch destination for locals and expats.

Fresh is open Monday through Friday 7am-3pm and on Saturday 7am-2pm. You’ll find them outside of West End at Alba Plaza, which is on the left-hand side as you head toward Coxen Hole. Plenty of parking is also available.

The Landing at The Beach House in West End

With new daily specials and a regular menu highlighting all homemade meals using fresh ingredients, The Landing offers everything from mango ceviche to a goat cheese salad pita sandwich. Their regular menu boasts sandwiches, smoothies, and salads, so you can always find something light and fresh at this West End eatery. Bonus: they make fresh ginger ale. Get it by itself or add it to vodka for an amazing cocktail.

The Landing is open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner, closing at 8pm every night.  Located upstairs at The Beach House hotel in West End, which is the bright yellow building on the beach at the circle.

Roatan Oasis outside of West End

This is an oasis indeed – offering a varied menu based on fresh ingredients each week, Roatan Oasis is always reliably delicious. With fantastic light bites offering fresh fish and vegetarian options as well as high quality meats, Roatan Oasis provides a welcome relief from the typically fried menus found elsewhere. While this is a popular bar, you won’t find greasy pub food around anywhere! And don’t forget their crafty cocktails made with fresh ingredients as well.

Roatan Oasis is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. Their regular hours are 5pm-11pm; some nights they have live music.
