This is certainly a great medium to bring awareness of issues to a great number of people. I feel that one of the huge benefits of living on a very small island is indeed the "community spirit". I am ashamed to admit that the reason that I had not previously gone down to Woods Clinic to offer myself as a blood donor was because I assumed the process itself would be inefficient and time consuming. This was absolutely not the case. The staff were welcoming and professional, and the process was not at all lengthy. I am now on the Contact List at Woods Clinic and, at little notice, will give blood in any emergency. Maybe, a few more of us could go down and put our names on the list as the clinic is unable to store blood for any length of time so in case of emergency, time is of the essence. For everyone's information, I am O negative. My thoughts and best wishes to Walter and his family.
